This bedroom was created as a complement to someone seeking the “New Traditional” look. Design cues come from classic European motifs like astragal shapes, cove and jack moldings and keystones. Chesterfield tufting, beading and scroll elements are present on the upholstered bed. To juxtapose these classic traditional elements, we selected figured, “tiger striped” maple veneers for their natural depth and neutral color tone. This allows us to get a “cool” brown finish rather than warmer colors produced by cherry or mahogany. The hardware design is a contemporized turned knob with a soft “ogee” shape to the post. The satin nickel color brings brightness to each case.
