Furniture Mall of Kansas Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 3/4 cup White Sugar
- 1 cup shortening (1/2 cup Crisco and 1/2 cup Margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups nuts
- 1 (6 ounce) bag chocolate chips
Cream brown sugar and white sugar with shortening. Add eggs. Dissolve soda in hot water and add to mix. Add salt, flour, oatmeal and vanilla. Sprinkle in nuts (if desired) and chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake 375°.
